While I have been working in The Toledo area, I visited the Toledo Museum of Fine Arts several times. Located in Toledo’s Old West End,a crumbling and beautiful historic neighborhood, the museum surprises with a well curated and friendly atmosphere. They have a great collection of historic paintings as well as a modern building with a seemingly very thorough glass exhibit. Here are some of my favorites. well worth a trip if you are in the area.
Lake Nemi, Italy, Sanford Gifford Robinson
The Bridge, Blackwells Island, George Bellows
Mother and Daughter, Jacob Simon Hendrik Kever
Across the Salt Marshes, Edward J. Steichen
Victoria Duborg, Edgar Degas
And here is a larger gallery. In the museum you will find everything, a Rembrandt, Monet’s, Gibert Stuart’s, a fine collection to study and sketch from.
